Washing Machine Repair & Service in Delhi

The check-up is a diagnosis, not a guess from the symptom. The technician tests the power supply, the controls, the motor, the drain and the water inlet, then runs the machine through a test wash and spin. A machine that will not spin may have a failed motor, or it may simply be full of water that a blocked filter will not let out.

You then get a written quote on the spot, before any repair work starts. Allow about 1 hour. If you approve the repair, the ₹199 visit charge is adjusted in the final invoice. Ask for the part and the labour to be shown separately, so you can weigh the cost against the machine.

Samsung's India support page names a wrongly fitted drain hose as the most common reason for a drain error, ahead of any failed part. Straighten the hose and check that nothing presses on it behind the machine. If the drain outlet itself is blocked, that needs a plumber in Delhi, not an appliance repair.

On a front load, the debris filter sits behind a small panel at the bottom. Coins, hairpins and lint collect here. Keep a tray ready, because water will run out. After a hot wash, Samsung advises waiting about an hour before you touch the drain parts. If the filter and hose are clear, the drain pump is the next suspect.

A drum that will not spin often has nothing wrong with it. Most automatic machines hold back the spin when water has not drained or the load has bunched up, and one heavy blanket can do this on its own. Spread the clothes out and try a spin-only cycle. If the drum still will not turn, the belt, motor and board are next.

Semi-automatic machines fail differently. They have separate wash and spin tubs, each with its own motor, so one side can stop while the other still runs. Mention which tub has the problem when you book.

Where the water shows up tells you a lot. A wet patch under the door of a front load points to the door gasket, or to something caught in its fold. Water at the back usually comes from the inlet pipe or its tap joint, the simplest leak to fix. Water from under the machine can mean the drain hose, the pump or a leak inside the tub, and that needs the panels off.

Delhi gets about 80% of its yearly rain from July to September, so balconies stay damp for weeks. LG links a closed door to mould in the gasket, because the moisture has no way out. Its India page says to clean the gasket at least once a month and to leave the door open until the machine is fully dry. It suggests oxygen bleach diluted in warm water, but follow your own manual.

A smell that stays after the gasket is clean usually comes from inside the tub. That is when a jet service makes sense. The drum, tub, filters and drain get a thorough cleaning, and a test wash follows.

If a front load started shaking right after a move, check the back of the machine first. Transit bolts hold the drum still during transport. Samsung says they must be removed before use, and Bosch says to take them out and fit the blanks supplied with the machine. A machine run with the bolts in place shakes hard on spin. Keep the bolts for your next move.

The floor is the second suspect. Bathroom floors in Delhi flats and builder floors slope towards the drain, and balcony tiles can be uneven. Bosch says an off-balance machine can thump and knock loudly at high spin speeds, and suggests checking with a spirit level and adjusting the feet.

Noise that remains on a level floor with an even load is a repair matter. Rattling can be an object in the drum or drain pump. A deep rumble that grows with spin speed usually points to worn bearings. Bearing work takes much of the machine apart, so weigh that quote against the machine's age.

Three parts decide most large quotes: the control board (PCB), the motor and the drain pump. Their cost changes with the brand and model, which is why the rate card lists the check-up and not a fixed repair price.

Supply problems can look like machine faults. Delhi's declared supply is 230/240 volts, and some machines report when the input moves outside their range. If the display shows a voltage message, try another appliance on the same socket. If that struggles too, call an electrician in Delhi or your power company before paying for a board. Ask the brand or your manual whether your model needs a stabiliser.

Ground water in parts of North Delhi and West Delhi carries far more dissolved salt than the belt along the Yamuna in East Delhi, and deeper borewells tend to be worse. If your tap runs on a borewell, look at the inlet filter when filling slows. A clogged mesh can bring up a water supply code with no failed part at all.

Small fixes such as a cleared filter or a new inlet pipe are worth doing at any age. The real decision comes with a PCB, motor or bearing quote. Compare that written figure with today's price of a similar new machine, then ask three things: is the machine old, has it needed repair more than once lately, and can your model's part still be found?

Read star labels with care. Under the Bureau of Energy Efficiency's Schedule 12 rules of March 2019, front loads are tested on a 60°C cotton programme, and top load and semi-automatic machines on a 30°C one. So stars compare machines of one type, not a front load with a top load.
