A cold, leaking or tripping geyser gets a ₹249 fault check under FixThat's geyser services in Delhi, with the element, thermostat, safety cut-out, valves and earthing tested. The written quote reaches your booking before any repair starts, and the ₹249 is adjusted in the final invoice if you approve the work. A visit today is possible only when the booking page shows a same-day slot. Descaling starts at ₹599, and fitting a geyser is ₹499.

A technician visits to inspect your electric storage or instant geyser, traces the fault and puts the quote in writing before any work begins. Say yes to the work and the ₹249 comes off your final repair bill.

Your electric geyser is cleaned inside and out, its heating element is descaled and the tank is flushed. Scale from hard water makes a geyser heat slowly.

We mount your storage or instant geyser, new or old, on the wall and hook it up to water and electricity.

Your geyser is emptied, unhooked from water and power, and safely brought down from the wall.

Your geyser comes off and goes back up, whether it is shifting to a different bathroom or wall work has just finished.
Every fault below starts with the same ₹249 repair booking. If there is more than one fault, choose the "not sure" option.
| What you notice | Likely cause | What to book | Starts at |
|---|---|---|---|
| No hot water at all | Tripped MCB, dead socket, failed element or thermostat, safety cut-out operated | Repair: no hot water or weak heating | ₹249 |
| Water heats slowly or stays lukewarm | Scale on the element, low voltage, thermostat set low | Repair first. Book a service if the element only needs descaling | ₹249 |
| Drops from the safety valve | Inlet pressure too high, scale in the valve | Repair: water leakage | ₹249 |
| Water under the geyser or on the wall | Loose joint, worn gasket, element flange, rusted tank | Repair: water leakage | ₹249 |
| MCB trips when the geyser starts | Element leaking current, wiring or socket fault | Repair: tripping, shock or sparks | ₹249 |
| Tingle from a tap or the geyser body | Poor earthing at the point, or current leaking to the tank | Repair: tripping, shock or sparks. Switch off first | ₹249 |
| Rumbling, hissing or a bad smell | Scale, air in pipes, water left standing in the tank | Repair: noise or bad smell | ₹249 |
| Heating is fine, but it is years since a clean | Sediment and scale building up | Geyser service, up to 10 litres | ₹599 |
| Heating is fine on a bigger tank | Sediment and scale building up | Geyser service, 11 to 25 litres | ₹649 |
The check runs in a set order, so a part is not swapped on a guess. Plan for about an hour.
Orient lists the power supply, a tripped MCB and a faulty thermostat as the usual reasons for no heating. If the indicator lamp is on and the water stays cold, the fault is likely inside the geyser.
Three parts stop the heating. A burnt element gives no heat at all, and Racold links this to dry heating, cracks or heavy scale. A failed thermostat may cut power too early. The third is the safety cut-out, which trips on overheating and does not reset by itself. Havells sets its cut-out at 95°C, give or take 5°C, and says not to restart the unit by resetting it when the power icon stays off.
Slow heating is a different complaint. Time it first. Racold's Omnis manual gives a maximum reheat time for a 50°C rise of 20 minutes for 10 litres, 30 minutes for 15 litres and 50 minutes for 25 litres. If your 2 kW geyser of that size runs far beyond that, Racold's guide points to scale on the element or low voltage.
January makes this easy to misread. Cold inlet water needs a longer heat, so a geyser that runs out in winter may be undersized and not faulty.

Where the water comes from decides the bill. A drip at the inlet or outlet joint is usually a loose fitting, a small repair. Water from the flange around the element points to the gasket, the bolts or, on instant models, the element's brass flange. Racold's fault guide lists each of these.
A leak from the tank body is the serious one. Orient says rust and corrosion are a common cause and that this needs a technician. Check your tank warranty before you approve anything.
A dripping safety valve is often the valve doing its job. Racold says constant dripping means too much pressure at the inlet, and it warns against tampering with the valve or over-tightening it. Never plug it to stop the drip.
Racold's instant geyser manual says inlet pressure should stay within 1.5 bar. It recommends a pressure reducing valve, and it singles out multi-storey buildings. That valve goes on your water line, so the quote may include it, or you may need our plumbing services in Delhi. Other models have their own limit.
Orient calls a repeatedly tripping MCB on a wet-area appliance a safety signal, not a small nuisance. Switch off at the MCB and stay off the hot water until the geyser has been checked. Do not keep pushing the switch back up.
Common causes are an element that has started leaking current, damaged wiring or a burnt socket. A wet socket behind the geyser can do the same. The check-up tests the element and the earthing, and that normally tells you whether the fix is inside the geyser or in the house wiring.
For a mild shock, Racold's guide names improper earthing at the home as the cause. You may then need electrical services in Delhi as well as the geyser repair.
Havells asks for a 16 A double pole MCB or a 16 A fuse as backup, and says its shock safe plug needs a monthly test button press. It also says such a plug is no substitute for proper earthing. The CEA rule in the facts below also calls for a residual current device in homes, so ask an electrician whether your board has one.
A hissing or rumbling geyser usually has scale on the element or sediment in the tank. Racold ties hissing to scaling and advises descaling the element. Orient says trapped air in the pipes can also cause noise.
A stale smell after the geyser has sat unused is often harmless. Racold says water left for 15 days or more can smell for a while, and that flushing twice the tank capacity clears it.
A rotten egg smell is different. Orient blames bacteria and suggests flushing and disinfecting the tank. GE, a US maker, says water high in sulphate can react with the anode rod. That matters in parts of Delhi, where the Central Ground Water Board reports up to 3,057.5 mg/l of sulphate in West Delhi district samples. If the smell stays after a flush, book the noise or bad smell repair.
Brown or rusty hot water needs more attention. Orient reads it as a sign of tank corrosion, often from a worn anode rod. If only the hot water is brown, the geyser is the likely source.
The district figures are ranges from ground water samples in Central Ground Water Board booklets, with maps from 2012. Your home may get softer piped water, so use them as a guide to risk, not a test of your tap. Homes on a borewell should take them more seriously.
AO Smith explains the problem plainly: scale forms a barrier between the element and the water, so the geyser works harder and heats more slowly. Compare that with the figures above. For hardness, mg/l and ppm are close to the same unit. Every district's upper reading is past Racold's 400 ppm, and West Delhi's is more than 13 times over. Expect more scale if your home draws on ground water.
The geyser service clears this. The tank is drained and flushed, the element is taken out and descaled, and the thermostat, safety cut-out and safety valve are checked. It is then refilled, leak-checked and heat-tested. It takes about 45 minutes and costs ₹599 up to 10 litres, ₹649 for 11 to 25 litres and ₹699 above 25 litres.
Book the service if the geyser still heats and you simply want scale out. Book the repair if something has stopped working, leaks, trips or shocks. A service will not mend a burnt element. If you are unsure, the ₹249 check will tell you which one you need.
The anode rod needs one more thought. Racold treats it as a consumable, and its warranty does not cover tank cleaning or descaling. So read your card and budget for these as upkeep.

These are the listed prices. Fitting ends with a leak check and a heating test.
| What you need | What is done | Time | Price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Geyser installation | Wall drilled, geyser's own bracket fixed, inlet and outlet joined, safety valve fitted, leak check and heating test | 1 hr | ₹499 |
| Geyser uninstallation | Power off at the MCB, tank drained, water and power disconnected, geyser removed, open pipe points capped | 40 mins | ₹399 |
| Geyser re-installation | Geyser taken off, fixed at the new spot, leak check and heating test | 1 hr 40 mins | ₹898 |
Age and the type of fault decide this, more than the repair price alone. A thermostat, a safety cut-out, a valve or a loose joint is usually worth fixing on a geyser still within its working life. The cost of an element depends on the brand and model, so part prices are not on the rate card. They appear in your written quote before you agree.
A leaking inner tank is the clearest reason to replace. Orient also lists rusty water, repeat breakdowns within a year, noise from heavy sediment and a geyser that can no longer meet the family's needs. Add age to that list. Orient puts the working life of most electric storage geysers at around 8 to 10 years, and says water quality and use change that.
Before you pay, compare the quote with your warranty card. Racold's Omnis range, for example, gives 2 years on the product, 7 years on the inner container and 3 to 4 years on the element, with conditions.
A new geyser's installation connects to the existing socket and your existing pipes. A new point or a longer pipe is separate work, so ask for it when you book. Racold also asks owners to confirm that CPVC or UPVC pipes suit a water heater before use.

The repair check is ₹249 for every fault type. The cost of the fix itself is in the written quote, and the ₹249 is adjusted in the final repair invoice if you approve the work.
The repair does not go ahead. The ₹249 is a visit fee, and it is adjusted in the final invoice only if you approve the work.
Check the thermostat setting first. After that, likely causes are scale on the element, low voltage, a failing element or a thermostat fault. In a bathroom with a long pipe run, the water also cools on its way to the tap.
Havells advises once a year, and AO Smith suggests flushing every 3 to 4 months in hard water areas. Use your own manual first. If your home is on ground water, or the geyser slows down quickly, lean towards the shorter gap.
No. Switch off at the MCB and do not use it until the earthing and the element have been tested. Book the tripping, shock or sparks repair.
Usually the inlet pressure is too high, and Racold's manual singles out multi-storey buildings. Do not block the valve. A pressure reducing valve on the inlet is the usual fix.
Yes. The repair covers electric storage and instant geysers. Instant models have a small tank, and Racold's guide says heavy scale can block the outlet too.
The repair listed here covers electric geysers only. For a gas geyser, contact its maker or your gas dealer.
It can. Racold, for example, recommends its own authorised service centre for installation. Check your card and speak to the brand first if the geyser is still under cover.
Yes. Geyser re-installation is ₹898 and takes about 1 hour 40 minutes. It covers removal, fitting at the new spot, a leak check and a heating test. The new spot needs a working socket and water points.
Yes. Installation is ₹499 for a new or old storage or instant geyser, using the geyser's own bracket. Have the geyser and its bracket ready, and check whether the brand offers free fitting first.

Sometimes. It depends on the slots shown when you book. For a shock or sparks, switch off at the MCB and leave the geyser off until the visit.
