FixThat chimney services in Delhi start with a ₹160 check-up of the motor, blower, capacitor, control panel, filters and duct pipe, and a written quote lands on your booking before any repair. Approve the work and the ₹160 is adjusted in the final invoice. Weak suction from grease may need only a clean from ₹399, or a deep service from ₹1,249 that takes the motor and blower out. A same-day slot, where one is open, shows when you book.

A visit to diagnose faults in wall mount and island kitchen chimneys. You get the fault found and a written quote before any work starts. Approve the work and the ₹160 is adjusted in your final repair invoice.

We remove the filters and mesh, steam clean them and clear the grease from the outer hood. Have an auto-clean or flap-open chimney? Book the deep chimney service instead.

We take the chimney down, clean the motor, blower and filters inside, clear grease from the body inside and out, then fix it back in place.

Your new or old kitchen chimney fitted over the hob, hooked up to the duct pipe and power, then tested.

Need a chimney removed for a replacement or kitchen work? We disconnect your kitchen chimney and bring it down safely.
The price is where the job starts. Parts are not on the rate card, so they appear in the written quote.
| What you notice | Likely cause | What to book | Starts at |
|---|---|---|---|
| Weak suction, smoke stays in the kitchen | Greasy filters or mesh on a chimney that has not been cleaned | Chimney cleaning, or the deep service on auto-clean and flap-open models | ₹399 |
| Suction still weak after filters are clean | Grease on the fan blades, full oil collector | Deep chimney service | ₹1,249 |
| Suction weak after a deep service | Crushed duct pipe, too many bends, jammed outlet flap | Chimney check-up | ₹160 |
| Motor hums, fan does not turn | Capacitor or motor winding fault | Chimney check-up | ₹160 |
| No lights, no motor, nothing | Dead socket, plug, fuse or a control fault | Chimney check-up, after testing the socket | ₹160 |
| Rattling or grinding sound | Loose screws, filter not seated, unbalanced fan, worn bearings | Chimney check-up | ₹160 |
| Buttons or touch panel not responding | Oil on the panel, moisture, control board fault | Chimney check-up | ₹160 |
| Trips the MCB or gives a shock | Damaged cable, moisture in the wiring, faulty capacitor | Switch off and unplug, then book a chimney check-up | ₹160 |
| Oil dripping from the hood | Full oil collector, soaked filter, low fitting height, loose duct joint | Deep chimney service, or a check-up if it returns | ₹1,249 |
| Auto-clean finishes but the chimney stays oily | Clogged collector, short cycle, heating element or board fault | Chimney check-up | ₹160 |
The check-up covers wall mount and island chimneys and takes about 45 minutes. FixThat is ProNearMe's home repairs site, so the booking, prices and support team are the same, as the About page explains.
Rule out the room first. Run the chimney on top speed with the ceiling fan off and any window near the hob shut. Kaff, a chimney maker, says a ceiling fan or cross-draught can push smoke sideways. A 60 cm hood over a wide four-burner hob also loses vapour at the edges, and no repair cures that.
If the smoke still lingers, grease is the likely reason. Kaff says most suction complaints come from a build-up on the fan blades, not a motor defect. Oil makes the blades heavy, so the fan moves less air and vibrates. Expect it sooner in a kitchen that fries puris, pakoras or bhature most days.
Which clean you need depends on where the grease sits. Chimney cleaning takes 45 minutes and costs ₹399 for push button models or ₹449 for touch panel models. The filters and mesh are steam cleaned and the hood is degreased outside, but the fan is not reached.
The deep chimney service is ₹1,249 for push button, ₹1,299 for touch panel and ₹1,399 for slanting or designer chimneys. The chimney comes down, and the motor, blower, filters and body are cleaned over 1 hr 45 mins. Auto-clean and flap-open chimneys need this one, not the basic clean.

The sound tells you a lot. Kaff links a deep hum with no airflow to a capacitor or winding fault, and a grinding sound to a dirty or unbalanced fan wheel. Vijay Sales' guide adds loose screws and a duct knocking against the cabinet as causes of rattling, then bearings and motor mounts if the noise stays.
If nothing starts, test the socket with another appliance. Then look at the plug, the fuse and the residual current device. If power reaches the chimney and it stays dead, book the check-up.
A capacitor, wiring or fan wheel is technician work. Kaff says the motor assembly on modern chimneys is sealed, and that opening the motor casing voids its motor cover immediately.
The cost of a motor or capacitor depends on the model, so it comes to you in the written quote.

Vijay Sales names oily residue on the sensors, moisture in the panel and a blown fuse. Switch off at the mains, wipe the panel with a slightly damp microfibre cloth, dry it fully and restart. Dry it with extra care in Delhi's humid monsoon months.
If the lights fail but the fan runs, Kaff says to check the lamp first, then the switch membrane. A fault that stays after that points to the control board. Elica's manual warns against running a hood without the lamp correctly fitted, because of the risk of electric shock.
Beyond's manual says to check the main supply and restart the chimney for a blank display or dead buttons. If that does nothing, a ₹160 check-up tests the panel, buttons and lights. A new board is a part, so its price comes in the quote.
Treat these as safety faults. Vijay Sales lists a damaged cable, moisture in the wiring and a faulty capacitor as causes of tripping or a shock on touch. It says to unplug the chimney and not use it again until the earthing, cables and motor capacitor have been checked. Do not keep pushing the MCB back up.
Beyond's manual says to plug a chimney only into a properly earthed outlet, and that a damaged supply cord must be replaced by qualified service personnel. If other appliances on the same circuit also trip, the fault may be in the house wiring and not the chimney. Electrical services on FixThat cover that side.
On a new chimney, a burning smell can be leftover protective film. On an older one, Vijay Sales points to grease heating up or dust on the motor. If the smell stays after a clean, or comes with a hot, humming motor, switch off and book the check-up.
A gas smell is a different emergency. Indraprastha Gas says not to switch any electrical switch or appliance on or off during a leak, and that includes the chimney. Open the doors and windows and call its leakage line, 155216. Book gas stove repair for burner faults once the gas smell has been dealt with.
Both Vijay Sales and Kaff point to a full oil collector or a soaked filter for dripping oil. Oil at a joint suggests a loose clamp or torn sleeve, says Kaff. A deep chimney service from ₹1,249 deals with the grease, and the check-up finds a joint fault.
Height is the other cause. FixThat's installation marks the position with you, usually 65 to 75 cm above the hob. Kaff says fitting too low causes condensate and dripping, while fitting too high reduces capture. Faber goes further and warns that below 26 inches, oil in the collectors can ignite. If your chimney sits too low, ask for refitting in the check-up quote.
Auto-clean does less than the name suggests. Kaff explains that the cycle heats the collection surface so oil drains into the collector. It does not empty that collector, and it does not clean the outer body, lamp covers or duct. If the cycle seems weak, empty the tray and run the full cycle, as Vijay Sales suggests. A cycle that will not run at all points to the heating element or control board.
Keep flames away from an oily filter. Elica's manual says exposed flames harm the filters and can cause a fire.
When the filters and fan are clean and suction is still poor, look at the duct pipe. Kaff names a crushed duct, a collapsed bend and a jammed outlet flap. Beyond's manual says joints must not leak air and the valve on the exhaust socket must not be blocked.
In DDA flats and builder floors, the pipe often has to travel along a wall or above cabinets to reach a window or balcony outlet. Faber says to keep the duct under 12 feet and avoid designs with many bends. Kaff says three or more bends lose a large share of the rated airflow. On its warranty page it adds that narrow pipes or extra bends create back-pressure that can burn out the motor.
Mosquito mesh on the outlet clogs with grease within months, according to Kaff. It also calls rigid PVC ducts a fire risk and prefers flexible aluminium.
The check-up covers the duct pipe for build-up and leaks. A new pipe route or a new wall hole is not on the rate card, and FixThat's installation uses the existing outlet hole, so ask about this before you approve a quote. Mention any false ceiling when you book. If a cabinet panel has to come off, carpentry services can handle it.

Maker rules vary, so your own manual comes first. If the check-up shows the supply is the problem, no chimney part will cure it. Report it to the company named on your bill. Homes in the NDMC area or Delhi Cantonment should use the contact on their own bill.
Kaff's split is a good starting point. Repair a dirty fan wheel, a failed capacitor, a dead lamp circuit or a worn damper. Replace when the motor has burnt out on an older non-BLDC chimney, the body seams have corroded, spares are discontinued, or the chimney was too small for the hob from the start.
Read your warranty card before you decide. Faber lists 12 years on the motor for its Hood Pluto and Apex, and Kaff says the motor part stays free in years 2 to 7 of its cover. A motor fault under cover may belong with the brand.
A new chimney should carry the ISI mark, as the facts above show. FixThat can fit it for ₹599 on a wall mount or ₹1,499 for an island. The job takes about 1 hr 30 mins, joins the duct to the existing outlet hole and uses the existing socket.
Taking the old one down costs ₹459 for a wall mount or ₹799 for an island.

The check-up is ₹160 for wall mount and island chimneys. The cost of the repair itself is in the written quote, because it depends on the fault and the part. The ₹160 is adjusted in the final repair invoice if you approve the work.
The repair does not go ahead. The ₹160 is a visit fee, and it is adjusted in the final invoice only if you approve the work.
Washing the filters does not reach the fan. Grease on the blades, a full oil collector, a crushed duct pipe or a jammed outlet flap can all hold suction down. Book the deep chimney service from ₹1,249 for grease, or the check-up if the chimney was cleaned recently.
A damaged cable, moisture in the wiring or a faulty capacitor are the usual suspects. Unplug the chimney and do not use it until it has been checked. If other appliances on that circuit trip as well, have an electrician look at the wiring.
Yes, when suction drops or oil builds up. The auto-clean cycle does not empty the collector or clean the body, lamp covers or duct. FixThat's basic clean is not meant for auto-clean models, so book the deep service from ₹1,249.
Elica and Beyond both say once a month in their manuals, and your own manual comes first. Clean sooner if you fry often or the filter already looks soaked.
FixThat repairs carry a 30-day warranty on the work done, so keep the invoice. Ask what it covers for any part fitted when you approve the quote. Brand warranty on the chimney itself is separate.
It can, depending on the brand. The deep service takes the motor out, and Kaff says opening the motor casing voids its motor cover. Check your warranty card first, and speak to the brand if the chimney is still under cover.
The check-up takes about 45 minutes, a chimney cleaning 45 minutes and a deep service 1 hr 45 mins. Repair time depends on the fault and the part.
The check-up can happen the same day if the booking page shows a slot. The repair itself depends on the fault and whether a part is needed, and the quote will tell you.

Yes. Book uninstallation at the old home and installation at the new one. The new kitchen needs an outlet hole and a socket, because installation uses the existing ones. Ask first if a new hole or longer pipe is needed.
